Configuring Thunderbird

Setting up E-mail account for the first time:

1. Please start Mozilla Thunderbird
2. Under New Account Setup please select Email Account
3. Click Next



4. You will be brought to New Account Setup
5. Fill in the Your Name field
6. Fill in the Email Address field to either netid@andromeda.rutgers.edu or netid@pegasus.rutgers.edu
7. Click Next



8. Under Server Information please select IMAP
9. Please fill in the Incoming and Outgoing server to andromeda.rutgers.edu or pegasus.rutgers.edu
10. Click Next



11. Please type in your NetId in the Incoming User Name field
12. Click Next



13. Fill in the Account Name field
14. Click Next



15. Review the Information
16. Click Finish



17. Select Tools and Accounts Settings



18. Under Account Settings please select Server Settings.
19. Please change the Port to 993
20. Select SSL under Security Settings.
21. Click Ok
22. Please Restart Thunderbird.
